In great news for baseball fans, At&t is adding the MLB network to Uverse this week. Just as with the NBA channel, the MLB network is going to show up on U300 and up Uverse television packages on channel 634 in standard definition, or 1634 in High Def.
I personally thought that UVerse already had a great set up for baseball with all of the Fox sports networks nationwide, but the addition of the MLB network makes it that much better. The MLB network offers 24/7 coverage of Major League Baseball as well as original programming like “MLB Tonight” and “QuickPitch” to keep you updated on all things in the world of baseball.
This move is a great one by AT&T to keep sports fans loyal to their U-Verse subscriptions. The timing is hardly surprising either, considering that the NBA channel addition was appropriately just at the beginning of the 2010- 2011 NBA season. This creates a great value proposition for the U 300 package, which is only $15 more than the U 200, package and also includes the movie package with Showtime, Starz, and Encore. The new Oprah Winfrey Network – OWN – is definitely going to be included (and already is as of Jan 1) in the ATT U-Verse line-up. It is going to be replacing the Discovery Health Network, channel 256 and 1256 HD, and Discovery Health Network West on channel 257.
Hopefully this addition will sate the appetites of all those looking for more junk to watch on daytime television. The Oprah Winfrey Network unfortunately doesn’t appear to have any programming more exciting than the Oprah Winfrey Show itself and then filler spots for O’s friends. However, if you’re into the kind of programming Oprah has to offer, than give the folks up at ATT a big thanks for making sure its on U-Verse!
Here’s my favorite media clip featuring Oprah of the last 2 decades:

Awesome news! As of this week NBA TV is available as channel 632 (1632 HD) on At&t U-Verse! For many sports fans, this is a timely addition right as NBA season gets started. U300+ package owners don’t have to do anything as this channel went live yesterday (much to everyones surprise). If you’re a die-hard NBA fan, you might want to consider upgrading to the U300 or U450 packages for the season.
Also, the deal ATT struck with the NBA network includes NBA LEAGUE PASS as well. Stay tuned for more information on this!
Now if we can only get the MLB package for next season…
